When, in life, you decide that walking around and whacking monsters is just not a responsible use of your time, when you've been looking sideways at that cute Summoner chick and thinking of settling down and laying some eggs, what do you do? Well, you head to the bar to get a job!

Propositions are an important part of Final Fantasy Tactics. They have an entertainment aspect, since the 'prizes' for this work varies. It can be gil, or a unique treasure, or even a forgotten location. As you discover forgotten areas and collect these treasures, you gain ranks in Adventurer and Treasure Hunter. This is something of a side quest. Some propositions may not appear until you achieve a certain level in Adventurer or Treasure Hunter.

When you've collected a treasure or a forgotten area, you can marvel at them at any time through the Brave Story menu.

Propositions start appearing in Chapter 2. In addition to the other 'prizes' you collect, the participating characters receive Job Points. This is particularly valuable to JP-heavy classes like the Summoner, and vital for the Calculator, who is so slow that the other characters get two or three turns to her one. Note, unfortunately, that 'signature' characters like Ramza, Agrias, or Mustadio cannot take propositions.

Propositions take time. Each one gives you a range of days that you'll allow for the job. It seems likely that low-balling the period allowance might decrease your chance of successfully completing your work. Each proposition takes up to three characters.

Some propositions seem to be suited to particular character classes; success is more likely with them along, and the job point rewards are greater.
